KING, HIS ENTOURAGE ARRIVES FROM WALES

King Letsie III and his entourage arrived in the country on Monday from a successful one week state visit in Wales.

King was welcomed back by the Acting King, Chief Mathealira Seeiso and Prime Minister Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili at Moshoeshoe I International Airport.

Upon arrival the King inspected the guard of honour.

In a brief interview, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Mohlabi Tsekoa said, the Lesotho delegation led by the King had a successful trip and well prepared state visit in Wales.

Mr. Tsekoa, said the visit was intended to strengthen the cordial relations between the two nations, adding that while in Wales the King and his entourage visited several places that included schools and traditional heritage places.

He said, they also managed to establish relations on many fields such as health and police, adding that there will be exchange programmes in which school principals, teachers and students from Wales will visit schools in Lesotho like Likhetlane in Leribe and Molapo as well as Maluba-lube in Mokhotlong.

Furthermore, the Minister said Wales first Minister, Mr. Rhodri Morgan will visit Lesotho next year in March as a follow up on the King's state visit and that Honorary Consulate will visit Lesotho before the end of the year.

He said, the King was pleased by the reception he got in Wales and well organised preparations in which the schools in that country sang Basotho songs and dances, including singing of national anthem 'Lesotho Fats'e la bo Ntata Rona'.

The King's entourage included Mr. Tsekoa, Principal Chief of Tajane Chief Tlali Mohale and other government officials.

Present at the Moshoeshoe I airport to welcome the King other than Chief Seeiso and Prime Minister included President of Senate chief Letapata Makhaola, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Lesao Lehohla, other cabinet Ministers, Diplomatic Missions in Lesotho and government dignitaries.

King Letsie III and his entourage left the country for Wales last Monday (November 10).
